Posts Dated: MAY 2012Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) is a year long initiative to partner with local non-profits who positively influence the health of children in the Charleston community. REV selected five local non-profits as beneficiaries and each non-profit has a designated week in which REV restaurants will donate 5% of their proceeds to that organization. From May 16- 23rd, Poe’s along with Taco Boy, Monza and Closed for Business will donate 5% of their proceeds to The Green Heart Project.
The Green Heart Project is a community-based organization that pair’s volunteers from the Charleston area with disadvantaged youth in an effort to teach the knowledge and values needed for a sustainable future and instill the virtues of hard work and success through building an urban garden. Poe’s Tavern is gearing up for the summer with some new burger options and a slew of local beers on tap. The winner of the New Burger Contest was the Fortunato, a classic Poe’s patty topped with bacon, pimento cheese, and a fried green tomato. For the first time ever Poe’s will offer a vegetarian burger option, Poe’s Butterbean Burger, for all our veg friendly fans. Made in house from butter beans, red peppers, carrots, almonds, onion, jalapeño’s and spices, the patty is topped with our house made vegetable remoulade, lettuce, tomato and onion. Stop by and give us your feedback on these new additions to the menu!
The draft list has been updated to serve many local breweries in Charleston. Poe’s will now carry the seasonal brews from local brewers like Westbrook, Holy City, Palmetto, Coast and RJ Rockers. The taps will continue pouring an extensive selection of other beers such as Allagash, Blue Moon, Hoegarden, Stone, Guinness, Yeungling, Stella, Fat Tire and Sam Adams along five other rotating lines.
