About Poe's Tavern, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, FL

Named in honor of talented and troubled author Edgar Allan Poe, Poe’s Tavern first opened on Sullivan’s Island near Charleston, South Carolina in 2003, and expanded to north Florida in the summer of 2011. Poe’s brings its second store to Atlantic Beach, two blocks from the ocean at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and 3rd Street / A1A, 30 minutes due east of downtown Jacksonville. Poe’s is best known for its gourmet hamburgers – ground in-house and cooked to order – and its hand-cut french fries. Other popular items include fish tacos, quesadillas, entree-size salads, Edgar’s Drunken Chili and the daily Market Fish Sandwich special.
